For over 500 years a war has been fought in secret between two major powers. The Vampires and the Werewolves, natural enemies. Murder, chaos, and mayhem befell every place they went in the middle ages. Though each of the species were immortal, the war could not be. The Vampires emerged victorious, when three vampires slayed the last and final Wereking. With his death, the Werewolf packs, dispersed with no one to lead them.

Afterwards, a great genocide occurred in which Vampires hunted down every Werewolf they could find, until their race was left broken and defeated. For the next 500 years though, they would begin to recover. Now, their numbers are back up, but they remain without a King to unite them.

In modern times, there is a very uneasy truce between the Vampires and Werewolves. Basically no species wants to repeat the genocide and mass casualties on each side, though territorial disputes have been known to occur, but as for a full on war, none has been declared by The Elders. Not until a King unites the packs..
